The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has urged Nigerians to avoid corrupt practices in 2025 and remain steadfast in the fight against corruption.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, issued the warning on Tuesday, emphasizing that the nation’s progress and development hinge on collective efforts to combat economic and financial crimes.
In his New Year message, Olukoyede highlighted that rejecting corruption is essential for improving the quality of life for all Nigerians and fostering economic growth.
He called on citizens to use the opportunities presented by the New Year to recommit to the values of transparency, accountability, and integrity.
“With collective support for anti-corruption initiatives, we can achieve the progress and development we desire for our nation. The New Year provides fresh opportunities to renew our dedication to transparency, accountability, and probity. The advancement of our economy and quality of life depends on our commitment to integrity and responsible conduct,” Olukoyede stated.
The EFCC chairman assured Nigerians that the commission is determined to surpass its accomplishments from 2024 and pledged relentless efforts in the pursuit of justice.
“Our work goes beyond being a job; it is a patriotic duty. We are aware of this and will always give our best to move the nation forward.
“2025 will be another year of dismantling the strongholds of corruption. Our focus is clear, and our commitment is unwavering,” he concluded.
