The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stationed operatives in various parts of Akure, the Ondo State capital, to tackle vote-buying during the governorship election.
EFCC personnel were observed at Sacred Heart Primary School, Cathedral, Akure.
DAILY POST reports that the election is being held across 3,933 polling units in all 18 local government areas of the state.
Ahead of the election, there were claims that some political parties intended to influence voters with monetary offers. While voting commenced at about 8:30 a.m. in several polling units, others faced delays due to late delivery of election materials.
