The Special Military Task Force of Operation Safe Haven, OPSH, rejected the report claiming the arrest of its Sector Commander in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State in connection with recent attacks in the region. Captain James Oya, the media officer of OPSH in Jos, issued a statement refuting the allegations. Oya characterized the report as untrue, misleading, and designed to undermine the efforts of the military and other security agencies in addressing the current security challenges in the state.
He dismissed the report as not only lacking a factual basis but also as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of the dedicated troops and diminish the ongoing efforts of OPSH to bring those responsible for the reprehensible acts to justice. Oya emphasized that OPSH, as a multi-agency security initiative, has consistently and resolutely tackled the recurring security challenges in Plateau and its surroundings. He asserted that the commitment and devotion of the troops remain steadfast in ensuring the safety and security of the affected communities. OPSH, designated with the responsibility of maintaining peace in Plateau and parts of Kaduna and Bauchi states, remains resolute in its mission.
