The Presidency announced on Saturday that N60 million has been distributed to 120 youths selected nationwide. This information was shared by Abiola Arogundade, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (SSAP-TVEE), during an award ceremony in Abuja for the ‘Unlock Training Programme’.
Arogundade explained that the programme followed a six-week campaign by the Presidency, which invited Nigerian youths to submit one-minute videos showcasing their TVET skills, future plans, and how they need government assistance to achieve these plans.
Participants, both online and physical, were trained in various aspects of business planning, including executive summaries, business overviews, marketing strategies, pricing, money management, and risk management.
Approximately 10,000 participants underwent a 10-day intensive training on writing and executing business plans. Following the training, 120 participants with the best business plans received grants of N500,000 each.
Additionally, 80 individuals excelling in their Technical, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship skills received honorary awards to help upscale their businesses. Four Solar Kiosks were also awarded to support TVET skill development, designed for hairdressing, catering and food vending, and general purposes.
