Jigawa State Government has approved the reduction of official working hours in the state by two hours.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila issued to news correspondents on Monday.
The statement said the reduction of the working hours started from Tuesday after the commencement of Ramadan fasting.
According to the statement, “Civil Servants in the State are now to report to the office from 9am and close by 3pm while on Friday are to close by 1pm.”
He explained that the reduction of the working hours is aimed at providing more opportunities to civil servants to prepare for their Ramadan break.
Also to have ample time to observe their spiritual activities in the Holy Month.
He, therefore, urged civil servants to use the Ramadan period to pray for God’s guidance and blessings for the state.
