Amid the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike asserted on Saturday that the prevailing political authority will become evident in due time. Wike made these remarks during his visit to the home of Victor Giadom, the South-South Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), situated in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Wike emphasized the insignificance of current political clamor, dismissing those he referred to as “hungry noisemakers” on the streets. He expressed confidence that the true leaders would be revealed when the appropriate political moment arrives. Wike highlighted the importance of timing, stating that the present is not the suitable period for engaging in politics.
The Minister remained unfazed by criticism and online abuses, asserting that he has never concerned himself with those who disparage him. He emphasized that the political landscape operates on a different plane than social media engagements, emphasizing that elections are not won through online activities. Wike also addressed his alignment with Giadom, emphasizing the enduring nature of friendship beyond transient political affiliations, acknowledging mistakes made in the past, and highlighting the resilience of interpersonal connections.
