Sallah: Nigerian govt declares Monday, Tuesday public holidays

The Federal Government has announced that Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024, will be public holidays to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this announcement on Friday in Abuja on behalf of the Federal Government.

The Minister extended his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and abroad on this occasion.

Tunji-Ojo encouraged the Ummah to continue embodying the spirit of peace, kindness, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to use this time to pray for the unity, prosperity, and stability of Nigeria.

“The Minister assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s administration is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.

“While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister also urged all Nigerians to commit to building a prosperous Nigeria for future generations,” the statement added.
