Hoodlums on Sunday attacked the convoy of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday when Tambuwal and other government officials were returning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) statewide electioneering campaign in Silame and Wamakko Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.

However, the governor and PDP gubernatorial candidates of Sokoto state Mallam Saidu Umar Ubandoman , Kebbi State gubernatorial candidate Gen. Aminu Bande rtd, the Deputy gubernatorial candidate of Sokoto state, Hon. Sagir Bafarawa and other dignitaries escaped unhurt.
Reacting to the attack, Governor Tambuwal told journalists that already investigation was ongoing and some of the hoodlums have been arrested and will soon be prosecuted.
Tambuwal said Government cannot condone any act of violence in Sokoto state and warned that those arrested would be used as a deterrent to forestall similar attack.
He said Government could not afford to toy with the fragile peace in the state and urged all political leaders in Sokoto to eschew violence and advise their supporters to campaign peacefully.
