TCN restores power supply to Gombe-Damaturu-Maiduguri 330kV line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully restored bulk power supply to the 330 kilovolt transmission line connecting Gombe, Damaturu, and Maiduguri. This information was provided by TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah in a statement on Friday.

The transmission line was vandalized on September 22, 2024, causing significant power disruptions in the area. TCN announced that the line was repaired and power supply was reinstated at approximately 2:01 pm on Thursday. The Gombe-Damaturu line had its power restored by 7:25 pm on October 30, while the Damaturu-Maiduguri section was fully restored on October 31.

The company explained that tower 372 along the line was damaged and had to be rebuilt, with reconnection completed on October 23. Immediate power restoration was complicated by further vandalism affecting the Ugwuaji-Apir line. However, power supply through the Gombe-Damaturu-Maiduguri transmission line is now fully restored. DAILY POST also noted that TCN had restored power to several other regions, including Lafia and Makurdi, after prolonged outages.
