Tinubu promises to establish industrial hubs to tackle unemployment

The Nigerian government has unveiled plans to create industrial hubs as part of an initiative to boost job creation and address the escalating issue of unemployment in the country. President Bola Tinubu made this announcement during the 55th International Conference of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management in Abuja on Tuesday. The conference centered around the theme of “Sustainable Human Resources, Business, and National Development.”

Represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkiru Onyejeocha, President Tinubu underscored the administration’s dedication to guiding Nigeria towards self-sufficiency and decreasing reliance on external sources in the face of global challenges.

The president articulated the vision for an unprecedented surge in industrial activity through the establishment of distinctive industrial hubs, each tailored to leverage the unique strengths of various regions across the nation. Emphasizing the importance of sustainable development, he highlighted the necessity of creating an environment with abundant job opportunities, ensuring food security, and combating poverty.

President Tinubu also stressed the significance of inclusivity in pursuing this vision, expressing a commitment to prominently featuring women and youth in all initiatives, recognizing them as indispensable contributors to the nation’s overall success.
