The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC) issued a warning to its customers on Monday regarding a complete breakdown in the system, leading to a blackout across the entire Southeast region. According to Emeka Eze, the Head of Corporate Communications for EEDC, the incident occurred around 2 am on Monday. Despite this setback, the company assured residents that measures are being taken to restore normal operations promptly.
EEDC stated that the breakdown resulted in the loss of power supply to all their interface TCN stations, affecting customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States. However, they mentioned progress in resolving the issue, with the receipt of supplies at Awada TCN station in Onitsha by 7:30 am.
