Bologna forward, Joshua Zirkzee and Bayern Munich defender, Matthijs de Ligt, have given their green light for a move to Manchester United this summer.

Zirkzee has a €40 million release clause in his current contract while De Ligt will cost United around €50 million.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on X this Sunday: “Manchester United have green light from both Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt to join the club.

“Both players have spoken to Erik ten Hag with Man United now ready to advance on the club side in the coming days.

“It’s all approved on salary/commission also for Zirkzee.”

United’s transfer business has been delayed by uncertainty around manager Erik ten Hag’s future.

The former Ajax boss has now signed a contract extension at Old Trafford.

Austin Eguavoen, the interim manager of the Super Eagles, stated that he will decide today whether Victor Osimhen will start in the match against the Republic of Benin.

The teams are set to face off in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Saturday evening at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Osimhen was the last player to join the Super Eagles camp, as he needed to finalize his future after not securing a move to Chelsea or Al Ahli from Napoli during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old ultimately signed a loan deal with Turkish club Galatasaray on Thursday and then joined his teammates for training in Uyo.

Regarding whether Osimhen will be in the starting lineup against Benin, Eguavoen mentioned at the pre-match press conference:

“To determine that, considering we have a squad of 23 players, I need to reflect overnight before making the decision on who will start tomorrow.”

Transfer deadline day: Osimhen’s move to Chelsea collapses, set for Napoli stay

Victor Osimhen’s proposed move from Napoli to Chelsea has collapsed.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Blues, despite keen interest from Al Ahli.

However, Osimhen was not able to reach an agreement with the Premier League.

This leaves the Nigerian striker’s future up in the air, as he has been frozen out by Antonio Conte in Naples.

Conte has also brought in Romelu Lukaku to lead his attack this season.

There is little hope that Osimhen could yet leave Italy, as the transfer window in Saudi Arabia closes on Monday, September 2.

Al Ahli are ready to pay Napoli between €75/80m for Osimhen.

They have also offered the player a four-year contract, which will see him earn around £33.6m (€40m) a season – or £646,154 per-week – tax-free.

Al Ahli has already scheduled a medical for Osimhen, who appears likely to reject a move to Chelsea.
