Two S’East govs, senators working against Nnamdi Kanu’s release – Ohanaeze

The primary Igbo sociopolitical organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has claimed that two governors from the Southeast, along with senators and Igbo leaders, are actively hindering the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Ohanaeze asserts that these individuals are pushing for Kanu to be transferred to Kuje Prisons instead of being released, purportedly due to the upcoming Anambra governorship elections. The sociopolitical organization has warned that it will reveal the identities of these figures and groups if they persist in their activities that obstruct Kanu’s release, scheduled for December 15, 2023.

According to Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, among these groups are some leaders of Biafra agitators who are attempting to criminalize the Biafra struggle through sensationalism and violence in a bid for quick recognition and wealth.

Isiguzoro’s statement indicates, “Furthermore, certain political elites, including two Southeast governors, senators, and Igbo leaders, are covertly working to ensure that Nnamdi Kanu is only moved to Kuje Prison rather than being released outright, citing the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial elections.”

Ohanaeze Ndigbo passionately calls on President Tinubu to facilitate the release of Nnamdi Kanu by dropping all charges against him and permitting his immediate return to the United Kingdom upon release.
