UCL: Man City Clearly Better Than Real Madrid – Gary Lineker

Former England striker, Gary Lineker, has insisted that Manchester City were clearly the better side during their Champions League semi-final second leg tie against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

A brace from Rodrygo and a strike from Karim Benzema gave Real Madrid a 3-1 win over Man City at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Riyad Mahrez did score for Pep Guardiola’s side against Real Madrid.

However, Real Madrid qualified for the Champions League final with a 6-5 aggregate win.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will now face Man City’s rival, Liverpool, in the final later this month.

“One of the most extraordinary and thrilling two legged Champions League games in the history of the competition,” Lineker wrote on Twitter after the game.

“City were clearly the better side and unlucky to lose, but this Real [side] has immense character and somehow kept finding something from somewhere. Football, eh!”
