Why APC won Imo, Kogi – Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victories in his state and Kogi during the off-cycle election due to the party’s increasing popularity. Uzodinma emphasized that Nigerians are expressing satisfaction with the APC, attributing the success to the influence of President Bola Tinubu.

In Imo, Uzodinma successfully secured his re-election after defeating rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party. The APC candidate, Usman Ododo, also emerged victorious in Kogi State. However, the PDP clinched victory in Bayelsa State, with Governor Douye Diri securing re-election.

Governor Uzodinma and candidate Ododo visited Tinubu at the presidential Villa to present him with their certificates of return. During the visit, Uzodinma highlighted that the APC’s triumph in Kogi and Imo showcased the party’s “growing popularity.”

Uzodinma stated, “Our victory at the polls shows that Nigerians are still very happy with the APC. Nigerians voted en masse for the President, and this victory validates this claim through the voters in Kogi state and Imo state.”

Expressing gratitude, Uzodinma acknowledged President Tinubu’s support, advice, and wisdom, which contributed to their success. He also mentioned leveraging the achievements recorded by the President to persuade voters to support the APC candidates.
