On Sunday, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its extravagant spending.
Primate Ayodele argued that the administration’s excessive expenditures are harming Nigeria’s economy rather than addressing its issues. He expressed concern that the government’s approach to spending is detrimental to economic recovery.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele remarked, “President Tinubu’s actions are further damaging Nigeria’s economy instead of seeking solutions to mend it. The unnecessary lavish spending is not beneficial for the country.”
He continued, “I sometimes question whether government officials are aware of the situation, as their actions suggest otherwise. Given the current economic challenges, the government should avoid such expenditures.”
Primate Ayodele concluded by expressing doubt that the economy will improve by 2025, urging the government to reduce costs. He emphasized that excessive spending is worsening Nigeria’s economic troubles, with the administration seeming indifferent to the crisis.
