The Presidency has alleged that Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has assumed the role of the “opposition-in-chief” to President Bola Tinubu and his government.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, asserted that Atiku adopted this position after failing to realize his lifelong aspiration of becoming the President of Nigeria. Onanuga, in a released statement, criticized Atiku for providing inadequate and uninformed insights on the economy and other public concerns.
He suggested that Atiku’s recent comments on the economy and the efforts of the Tinubu administration were unconstructive and lacked substance.
