Embattled activist lawyer Dele Farotimi has been released after meeting his bail conditions.
Activist politician Omoyele Sowore shared the news, confirming that Farotimi is on his way back to Lagos.
In a post on X, Sowore wrote: “I am pleased to report that Dele Farotimi is no longer being held at the prison yards in Ekiti state and is now returning home to Lagos. The struggle continues!”
Just days earlier, a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti granted Farotimi bail set at N30 million.
According to DAILY POST, Farotimi was arrested earlier this month for allegedly defaming Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD).
The activist lawyer, who had been held at a correctional facility in Ado Ekiti, arrived at the Magistrate Court on Friday around 9:45 am under heavy security.
