Kaduna: Adara community cries out as militia kill two, abduct 17 others

Under the banner of the Adara Youth Congress (AYC), Adara youths in Kaduna State have raised alarms about the daily, brutal attacks by Fulani terrorists.

They claim that no Adara community has been spared from the violence and terror inflicted by these attackers.

In a statement released by Alhaji Ishaya Onnusim, the Public Relations Officer of AYC, it was expressed: “With profound sorrow, I speak on behalf of the Adara Youth Congress (AYC), highlighting the relentless and brutal slaughtering of our Adara people by Fulani terrorists daily.”

He reported that the violence continued on Friday in the Gefe community, within the Kallah District of Kajuru LGA, Kaduna State. The Village Chief, Mr. Emmanuel Dangaladima (Agom Ana-Gefe), was brutally murdered.

Onnusim lamented that the leadership and guidance of Dangaladima had been cruelly taken away, creating an irreplaceable loss for the community.

“The violence didn’t stop there. Mr. Eze Paska, a young Igbo man who had moved to our community seeking peace, was also ruthlessly killed. His wife was abducted by these cruel attackers,” he said.

Additionally, sixteen other Adara individuals were kidnapped and taken to an unknown location. The names of the abducted include Happy Bitrus, Fenedic Bitrus, Regina Arewa, Mary Joshua, Joy Joshua, Miller Ezra, Mattis Stephen, Olever Stephen, Monday Iliya, Florence Oliver, Blessing Maidoki, Mrs. Ezeh Paska, Beatrice Saleh, Bihari Mallam, and Mr. Ado Onomai.

Their families are left in deep distress and uncertainty about the fate of their loved ones.

The statement also noted that the Barga community in Awon Ward, Kachia LGA, was attacked on Thursday night. Many residents, including the village chief (Agom Barga), were kidnapped, numerous homes were destroyed, and valuable property was looted.

“It is clear that the Adara nation is under siege. Our communities are being devastated, our people are being killed, and our hearts are broken,” the statement said.

The Adara Youth Congress is calling on the government, security forces, and concerned citizens to support them during this time of crisis. They are demanding immediate, decisive action to safeguard their communities and bring the attackers to justice.
