Rivers crisis: I met dead system, need more power – Fubara

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has stated that his administration encountered a broken system upon his arrival in office.

During his remarks at the 18th anniversary of Omega Power Ministries and Chibuzor Chinyere’s 51st birthday celebration, Fubara called on the residents of the state to pray for him to gain the strength needed to advocate for the people.

He remarked, “From our vantage point, we see your valuable contributions to humanity. The functionality of our schools has greatly diminished, leaving them unable to provide essential training.

“We came into a lifeless system that we are working to revive, and since you are making a difference as an individual, it is evident that God will reward you.

“I desire more strength for the betterment of Rivers State and to protect its citizens.

“All we ask from you is to keep us in your prayers so we can maintain our focus, knowing that adversities often try to derail leaders in governance. Your support through prayer is vital for realizing our governance objectives in Rivers State.”

Fubara has been in a contentious struggle with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over control of the state.
