The Northern Senators’ Forum on Tuesday expressed its approval of President Bola Tinubu’s decision to order the release of minors detained during the #EndBadGovernance protests.
Sen. Abdulaziz Yar’adua, Chairman of the forum, made this known in a statement released in Abuja, praising the President for his leadership and his dedication to protecting the rights and well-being of young Nigerians.
“The President’s directive to the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, to expedite the minors’ release is a positive and commendable step,” Yar’adua said.
The forum acknowledged and appreciated the President’s decisive action in addressing this urgent issue. It also recognized the efforts of Northern leaders who have worked tirelessly to secure the minors’ release.
“Their persistence and advocacy have been crucial in highlighting this matter, and we thank them for their commitment to the welfare of our young people,” Yar’adua added.
The statement further called on Northern leaders to continue prioritizing the safety and education of children, ensuring they grow up in an environment that fosters their development free from harm and exploitation.
“Let us all work together to ensure that our youth receive the opportunities and support they need to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s future,” Yar’adua concluded.
