Miss SA, Mia le Roux pulls out from Miss Universe competition

Miss South Africa 2024, Mia le Roux, has stepped down from participating in the ongoing Miss Universe competition.

Daily Post reports that the pageant’s grand finale will take place on Saturday, November 16, in Mexico.

On Friday morning, the Miss South Africa organization issued a statement revealing that her withdrawal was prompted by health challenges.

“I am immensely grateful for the steadfast support from South Africa during my Miss Universe journey. This decision has been an agonizing one, given the dreams and expectations placed upon me.

“Nevertheless, focusing on my health and recovery is paramount, allowing me to continue representing my country to the best of my ability,” Le Roux shared.

Le Roux, who made history as Miss Universe’s first deaf contestant, was among 120 participants competing for the prestigious title.
