Shock and anxiety have enveloped Anambra State following the mysterious disappearance of the retired Archbishop of the Niger Province and Anglican Bishop of Nnewi, Most Rev. Prof. Godwin Okpala, during a trip.
Information has it that Archbishop Okpala was last seen yesterday, Friday, December 6, 2024, with his driver when he took a trip to Umuchu, a community in Aguata Local Government Area of the Anambra State.
News Express gathered that the Archbishop never arrived at his destination, and all attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, said he was unaware of the development.
The disappearance of Archbishop Okpala has sent shockwaves throughout the state, coming at a time when the state is witnessing an upsurge in kidnappings, activities of unknown gunmen and cult wars which have left many young men dead.
Concerned citizens are praying for the safe return of Archbishop Okpala and his driver as the search for them continues.
