On Tuesday, President Donald Trump shared details about his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He described the conversation, which centered on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as “very good and productive.”
In a Truth Social post, Trump stated that they had agreed to “an immediate ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure.”
The two leaders also committed to working swiftly toward a full ceasefire to bring an end to “this very horrible war.”
“This war would never have started if I were President!” Trump asserted.
He added that they discussed key aspects of a potential peace agreement, emphasizing that thousands of soldiers were being killed and that both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wanted the war to end.
“That process is now fully underway, and hopefully, for the sake of humanity, we will get the job done!” Trump wrote.
