Anambra 2025: Soludo will not have competitors – APGA boasts

Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has dismissed the possibility of any formidable political force unseating Prof Chukwuma Soludo from the governorship seat in 2025.

In an interaction with journalists at his office in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, Obi-Okoye asserted that APGA is not concerned about the impact of the Obidient movement and believes it will lose significance soon.

The Obidient movement is a political support group associated with the former governor of the state and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Obi-Okoye expressed confidence that APGA has defeated candidates supported by Obi on two occasions and is likely to do so again in 2025 if he sponsors another candidate.

Referring to the Labour Party candidate as Valentine Ozigbo, Obi-Okoye remarked that the name has become linked with electoral losses. He emphasized that the Obidient movement was not likely to resurface in the Anambra governorship election, as it was initially tied to an emotional aspiration for the presidency, unrelated to Peter Obi as an individual.

He added that APGA has advised Soludo to focus on effective governance and the delivery of quality infrastructure, which would ensure a smooth victory. Obi-Okoye highlighted the numerous projects the governor has in the pipeline, stating that they would materialize and speak for him before the end of the next year.
