N585m fraud: Presidency speaks on Tinubu reshuffling cabinet amid Betta Edu scandal

In light of the controversy involving the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, the Presidency has asserted that President Bola Tinubu will not hesitate to reorganize his cabinet if deemed necessary. Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, mentioned that any cabinet reshuffling would only be considered after the ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ngelale revealed that Tinubu had privately cautioned all his ministers against any involvement in fraudulent activities. Speaking on TVC Politics Today, Ngelale emphasized that Tinubu has consistently communicated his stance against indiscipline, corruption, dereliction of duty, or any form of incompetence within his administration. He clarified that any decisions regarding a reshuffle would be contingent upon the outcomes of the EFCC investigation.

While acknowledging speculations about a potential cabinet reshuffle, Ngelale urged against preempting the President’s actions. He emphasized that Tinubu is fully aware of all factors related to the conduct of individuals within his administration and will act accordingly based on the findings of the investigation.
