Bandits carried out simultaneous attacks in Zurmi and Maru local government areas of Zamfara State, resulting in four deaths and the abduction of six individuals. In Zurmi town, the hoodlums attempted to forcefully enter the palace of an Emir. Musa Mande, a resident, reported that they also targeted the neighboring residence of retired Col. Bala Mande, a former military administrator of Nasarawa State, opening fire on both locations. The Emir was evacuated to Gusau, the state capital, for safety by security agents. During the attack, three people were killed, and three others were abducted. Additionally, the bandits set fire to the MTN mast in the area, destroying associated network equipment.
In Maru town, the bandits killed one person and abducted three others. According to Musa Ibrahim Maru, the bandits besieged the town around 11:00 pm on Wednesday, with the invasion lasting for over two hours. Many residents, particularly women and children, fled the town for safety during the attack.
