General Yakubu Gowon has called on Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration as it tackles the various challenges facing the nation. He emphasized that it is premature to expect immediate resolution of all inherited crises across different sectors.
Following a meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, Gowon addressed the media, acknowledging the scrutiny and criticism that come with leadership. He expressed confidence in the government’s efforts to address the country’s issues while urging Nigerians to allow sufficient time for tangible progress.
Gowon also disclosed that discussions with President Tinubu encompassed the challenges confronting the ECOWAS subregion, emphasizing the importance of resolving them amicably.
Clarifying rumors about his absence from an event organized by ECOWAS, Gowon attributed it to miscommunication and affirmed his willingness to engage in discussions with the President to rectify any misunderstanding.
