JAMB Begins Sale Of Direct Entry Forms

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has initiated the sale of Direct Entry (DE) Forms across the nation and in selected foreign centers. Registration for this process will commence on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, and conclude on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday by JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the sale is accessible to foreign candidates seeking tertiary education in Nigeria via the Direct Entry mode. The Board reiterated its commitment to ensuring fairness for all candidates regardless of their status.

Furthermore, Dr. Benjamin emphasized that the Board would not process applications from institutions that have declined to verify A’level certificates presented by certain candidates for the 2023 admission cycle. Candidates who are not awaiting results must have uploaded their A’ level qualifications, O’ level results, and DE registration template during registration. No DE candidates will be considered for admission until their claimed results are uploaded and verified by the relevant awarding institutions through the Board’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) mail platform.

For DE candidates awaiting A’level results from programs like IJMB/JUPEB/NABTEB, they must have uploaded their Admission Letter and Registration Template during registration. Applicants with Cambridge certificates issued before 2018 should directly contact Cambridge for verification.

Dr. Benjamin noted that the verification process could take up to 28 days (as specified by the awarding body) before the results are forwarded to the Board, with the verification status being reflected on the candidate’s e-Facility profile. Statement of results (as a substitute for certificates) is accepted for registration only within three years from the date of award.

Additionally, the Board provided an opportunity for upgrading from UTME to DE, but only for candidates whose DE results were not released during UTME registration. These candidates must have indicated during registration that they were awaiting A’level results, with the relevant details provided in the uploaded registration template.
