The Nigerian labour unions (NLC) are still on strike. They will decide on the next steps after a meeting with their governing bodies today, June 4th.
There were signs of progress though, as the government and unions agreed on a meeting on Monday. This meeting resulted from an intervention by the National Assembly after talks on a new minimum wage stalled. The unions went on strike on Monday to demand better pay for workers. The government seems willing to offer a higher minimum wage than the previously proposed ₦60,000.
