The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has raised alarm over incessant and contious attacks on medical doctors across the country.
Chairman of the NMA Kwara State branch, Dr Ola Ahmed who stated this at a news briefing in Ilorin, Kwara State capital called on security agencies especially the State Commissioner of Police to beef up security at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH to ensure adequate protection of medical workers.
“Attacks on our members have been recorded across different hospitals in the state. Recently, a doctor was killed by patient’s relative in Delta State while rendering service”.
The association also called on government to as a matter of urgency to address the problem of inadequate facilities, and increase manpower for optimal performance.
