The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday sacked Senator Ali Ndume from Borno South as its Chief Whip.
He has been replaced with Senator Tahir Munguno of Borno North.
He was sacked following a letter of complaint against his unbecoming utterances by the All Progressives Congress.
The letter from APC leadership was read on the floor of the Senate by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
In the letter, the APC told Godswill Akpabio to urge Senator Ali Ndume to resign from the party and join either the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any other opposition party.
APC cited Ndume’s criticisms of President Bola Tinubu as inappropriate and stated that his remarks were not supportive of the Federal Government’s agenda. It could be recalled that last week, Ndume had claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was being caged by powerful forces inside the presidential villa and was not aware about the hardship in the country.
