The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has urged President Bola Tinubu to persist in his efforts to revitalize the country’s economy and restore trust in the local currency.
PFN’s national president, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, speaking to reporters about the nation’s state, also appealed earnestly to all opposition leaders, particularly those who contested the 2023 presidential election and lost, to set aside their differences and collaborate with President Tinubu in this crucial period in the nation’s history.
Bishop Oke emphasized PFN’s acknowledgment of the president’s endeavors to rejuvenate the country, stressing the need for collective action and unity of purpose to expedite the nation’s recovery.
He advised President Tinubu to promptly review salaries and wages to mitigate the impact of hyperinflation affecting the country’s populace.
Bishop Oke reiterated PFN’s unwavering prayers for Tinubu and his administration to succeed, stating, “We recognize the efforts of the President of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu, and his team. Should they falter, Nigeria would falter, and it would signify a collective failure. Hence, we pray for him and his team.”
However, he highlighted the prevailing hardships and escalating costs of living, stressing the urgent need for economic stabilization. He emphasized the necessity for salary adjustments to align with the prevailing economic conditions and ensure timely payment of wages and pensions.
Regarding security challenges, Bishop Oke urged the federal government to take decisive action against kidnappers, holding them accountable for their crimes.
He condemned the lavish lifestyles and ostentatious displays of wealth among bankers in the country, calling for prudence and accountability within the banking sector, especially amidst widespread unemployment and financial struggles among the populace.
Addressing concerns about certain religious figures questioning biblical teachings, Bishop Oke asserted that those challenging the authority of the Bible are not authentic religious leaders. He warned of the consequences for such individuals and emphasized the importance of prayer and correction within religious communities.
