The Delborough Lagos Hosted 16 Presidents In 1 Year — Obi Of Onitsha

Board members of The Delborough Lagos attribute the luxury hotel’s rapid success to the expertise and dedication of its distinguished leadership. In interviews following their recent board meeting, members noted that the brand’s high standards are sustained through collaborative governance, not individual ownership, ensuring The Delborough lives up to its slogan, “Ultimate Sophistication.” Since its inauguration on December 2, 2023, the hotel has committed to redefining hospitality in Africa.

Chaired by His Royal Majesty, Obi Nnaemeka Alfred Uzochukwu Achebe of Onitsha, the board features prominent figures like Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Prof. Mike Ozekhome, and several other influential leaders. Achebe announced that in its first year, The Delborough has hosted 16 presidents, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and other international dignitaries, underscoring the hotel’s prestige.

Achebe explained that their objective is to position The Delborough as the premier hospitality destination in Nigeria, Africa, and worldwide. With top-notch security, attention to detail, and cutting-edge facilities, the hotel aims to set new global standards.

Managing Director Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu shared that numerous African presidents have expressed interest in establishing The Delborough in their own countries, a move under serious consideration as the brand expands its global reach.

Prof. Mike Ozekhome emphasized The Delborough’s role in enhancing Nigeria’s image internationally, describing it as a “therapeutic haven.” Dr. Linus Idahosa highlighted the board’s focus on excellence, quality service, and personalized experiences, crediting these as key reasons behind the hotel’s success in attracting high-profile guests within its first year.
