You can go abroad and return when we fix Nigeria – Peter Obi tells students

Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has advised Nigerian students planning to seek better opportunities abroad after graduation to follow their ambitions.

Obi offered this counsel while making donations to two higher institutions in Anambra State: Peter University in Achina/Onneh and the School of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu. He expressed optimism that, with improvements in Nigeria, many who have left for opportunities abroad would eventually return.

Speaking to students at the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu, Obi emphasized his commitment to supporting institutions that foster skills, professionalism, and strong character.

“I visited in May this year to support you, as I promised,” he noted, explaining that the intended visit was delayed by election activities. “This annual support is something I am dedicated to. Those in public life should strive to earn public trust, and I am here to fulfill my promise.”

Obi further encouraged the Nursing Council not to prevent graduates from seeking opportunities abroad if they cannot thrive in Nigeria. “If you need to find better opportunities abroad, do so. When we build a better Nigeria, I believe you’ll return,” he remarked.

At Peter University, Obi urged students to take their studies seriously, describing education as a powerful force for national development. He emphasized that investing in education is, ultimately, an investment in the future.
