The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,200 personnel to safeguard lives and property during the Christmas celebrations in Adamawa State.
The Corps’ spokesperson, ASP Nyako Baba, informed journalists in Yola on Tuesday that the personnel had been stationed at strategic locations to ensure the preservation of law and order across the state’s 21 local government areas.
Baba quoted the Commandant of the Corps, Ibrahim Mainasara, cautioning the personnel against engaging in unprofessional conduct that could lead to disturbances during the festive period.
“This season, we anticipate an influx of people due to various activities and travels, among other things. Our rapid response squad, female squad, and intelligence officers will collaborate with other security agencies to ensure a smooth and trouble-free yuletide,” he stated.
